31. Oct. – 2. Nov. Yangon, MIID organized a trip for Pa-O farmers to attend the trade fair “Myanmar’s International Food Processing and Packaging Technology Exhibition” in Yangon and visit the organic market at Kandawgyi Lake. The purpose of the trip was to inspire the Pa-O farmers and give them new ideas for their businesses as well as a better understanding of market opportunities for their products.

At the organic market, the participants saw a broad range of organic products and could compare quality and prices of the products. During their stay in Yangon, they also visited MIID’s office where they met our staff and discussed project activities and challenges in the villages with our Executive Director Joern Kristensen.

The farmers are part of MIID’s project “Improving Market Opportunities for Smallholder Farmers, Especially Women, in the Pa‐O Self‐Administered Zone” which is funded by DFID through DaNa Facility. Find more details about the project under our project portfolio here
